Amanda & Shane got married on a beautiful October day. For those of you who don’t know Newfoundland, October is hit or miss. But we could not have asked for a better day. Perfect temperature, perfect amount of sun. Just perfect. And the bride & groom were no exception.
As I mentioned in their engagement blog, Amanda & Shane have been together about 7 years. Bay girl meets townie. They are perfect for each other. Their love is just storybook. Their love is obvious. They are soulmates through & through.
Amanda was stunning. From her hair, to her dress, to her makeup, everything was absolutely beautiful. Amanda is just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. Through our many emails, calls, texts, we grew to know each other quite well. She is so kind hearted and so understanding. Shane is the same. Shane and I actually graduated high school together, we later came to realize. Amanda could not have found more of a stand up guy to suit her sweet personality. He is so kind and caring. His love for Amanda shines through in the way he treats her.
The day started out with the men. Suits, ties, struggles with cufflinks. You know, the usual 😉 Amanda had a gift for Shane-Dragonball Z dragonballs. Literally, the dragon balls. It was amazing & Shane LOVED it. The men were pretty relaxed. Ready to get the party started.
Then it was off to the women. Always a bit more of a nervous vibe, but definitely excited nonetheless. These girls are amazing. They are hilarious. I didn’t even feel like I was working. I just felt like I was hangin out. There was makeup, there was champagne, there were tears. All the dresses were beautiful. Amanda opened her gift from shane-a beautiful Stella & Dot necklace with their wedding date on it. After that, it was off to the ceremony at the Salvation Army Citadel.
The ceremony was perfect. I love working there. The clergy is fantastic, the music is wonderful, and it’s a beautiful location. It was short & sweet & absolutely perfect.
Our first portrait location was Newman Wine Vaults. This was where the bride had her heart set on more than any other location in the city. And we lucked out and managed to get a booking. I love this location.
Then it was off to Bannerman park for family/bridal party photos. Always a beautiful spot. This day, it was quite busy with other wedding parties! The bridal party were troopers and let me move them 2930480 because I had too much going on in the background.
Next, we headed to Quidi Vidi. First we stopped at the Inn of Olde for a shot. Yes. A shot. Like I said, this wedding party was amazing. The Inn of Olde owner is quite the character and such a doll. She let us on the bar, in the bar, where ever, to take photos.
We then popped into the gut for some quick photos before our last stop to Cuckhold’s Cove. Again, this is my new favorite place! It is absolutely breathtaking. I first did some of just the Amanda & Shane, then some of the whole bridal party. The bridal party had a chance for a pee break & some blueberry picking 😉 Shane wanted some for his palm bays.
Then it was off to the reception. The food was divine. The cheesecake was to DIE for. The speeches were perfect. When it was time for first dances, I was prepared for the little secret they had let me in on. They had been taking lessons to make their first dance epic-and they did exactly that. It started out just like any other slow dance. Then it turned into the dirty dancing song. And suddenly, it was like I was watching Patrick Swazy & Jennifer Grey. They even had the lift at the end! 😉 It was perfect.
Amanda & Shane, Congratulations. Thank you for letting me share in your special day!
